This is a Bald Explorer Short. Today, 16th August 2020, I stumbled across a lovely couple from Poling in West Sussex at the church. They told me about a renovated pill box just down the road. They also told me that 80 years ago today there was a terrific battle in the sky – the Battle of Poling; the battle for the RAF RADA tower sited here. Goering’s Luffwaffe tried to destroy the important tower, but our fighter boys were not having any of it.
