Tunbridge Wells Spring Water

In this programme, the Bald explorer is tasting the spa water at Royal Tunbridge Wells, the Chalybeate spring that is fortified with iron. Discovered by Lord North in 1606, the spring water turned the town is into a place of high fashion in the 18th and 19th centuries. The wells are situated in the famous Pantile’s area, to the south of the town.

I talk to one of the famous ‘Dippers’ that traditionally served the water for nobility when they came to visit in previous years. There are still here today when you visit the town during the summer months. You can try the water for yourself and see if it perks you up.
