To the Devils Jumps on the Southdowns!

Cynthia Julian, Echo and I are off to visit the Bronze Age burial mounds that crown the Southdowns above Treyford in West Sussex. The Devil’s Jumps are roughly 3000 years old and come from the period of time before the written word. The five mounds and their shallow ditches encircling them stand sentinel atop of the the chalky hills where once early farmers and manufacturers of the new metals lived and grew communities.

The ‘Jumps’ are our destination, but first we have to get there!
