To Chanctonbury Ring in the Winter – Part One

Julia and I are off to Chanctonbury Ring on a grey murky Winter’s day. The route up to the famous ring of trees planted by Charles Goring in 1760 on the iron age hill fort on the Southdowns in West Sussex is interesting. The equally renowned beach tree with its rope swing is also a big draw, although today the swing was a little higher and less easy to play on. If you are feeling fit then join us.

This is part one of our walk – join us again in part two, the concluding film, where we reach the crown of the hill and explore the ancient monument.
