The Quest For England – In Which I Wander Around Storrington

The village of Storrington is lovely save for one thing, the Steyning to Amberley/Pulborough road that ploughs through its centre. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, the village sits at the north face of the South Downs above Worthing on the river Stor where tanneries and mills once stood. Now a pretty collection of Georgian and Victorian buildings house the local shops and offices, but oh, the traffic through the village is a nightmare, except on an early Sunday morning during the Covid19 ‘lockdown’ so it would seem.
