The Quest For England – In Which I Take A Stroll to the Chattri War Memorial

I am off for another walk on the glorious South Downs. This time I am just north of Patcham, near Brighton in East Sussex. I am visiting the Chattri War Memorial. It stands on the site where a number of Indian soldiers who fought for the British Empire were cremated during the First World War. The structure has Grade II listed status, reflecting its architectural and historic importance.
