Even though it is cold outside, it doesn’t stop my friend Harriet and I from getting out and about on the Shropshire Hill when I am up visiting her. We find walking very invigorating as well as a healthy activity. A part from recording a podcast which we occasionally do when hiking in the countryside it is also a great opportunity to chat about a host of subjects.
At the recent weekend, Harriet and I decided to take a stroll over a lesser known part of the beautiful Long Mynd around at Wentnor. This is a tiny rural farming village with to be honest not a lot in the area other than a country pub, village shop and green complete with grazing sheep. In the summer months there is a caravan park which offers a place to park up and the rolling hills, so excellent for walkers and explorers alike.
We parked in the pub car park, The Inn on the Green and took off for the nearby public footpath with the knowledge that in a couple of hours we would return with hungry bellies and a healthy thirst for the local real ale.
