Pells Pool in Lewes

It is time for another mini-adventurer with the Bald Explorer and this time I am in Lewes exploring the water. Firstly, there is the river Ouse, which use to be a major source of importing goods into the Georgian country town of East Sussex. Now it is really only pleasure boats and the occasional fishing vessel that journeys on the surface.

The other fascinating and pleasurable watering hole in this delightful town is Pells Pool, the local recreational Victorian out-door swimming facility. It was built around 1860, but before that it was purely baths for the local workers to clean themselves in. Now it is open from May to September and welcomes any one who enjoys swimming in the great outdoors.

Do check out the mini-series on Youtube and if you like, subscribe so that you do not miss a single episode. You can find out more about Pells Pool from their website, here:  www.pellspool.org.uk/
