Taking an old 1977s guide book I am interested in observing the changes, if any, within the last 41 years in the rural landscape. The lovely Julia Hartley is with me to keep me on track and help to decipher differences from the text.
We are in the countryside around the Ashurst area in West Sussex, just north of Steyning. It is Winter and with it brings a cold bracing morning. The ground frozen and visibility good, so let’s go.
