From Stopham Bridge to the Toat Monument Pt1

Today’s walk is in West Sussex. My friend Richard Suggett from the Veg Grower Podcast and I start our walk on Stopham Bridge which crosses the river Arun near Pulborough.

Our aim to get close to the Toat Monument, a a Grade II listed folly erected by Samuel Drinkwater 1827, which is on private land. To do so we shall pass the old motte and bailey castle location used by the Normans in 1066/7 known locally as Park Mount and a Second World War gun emplacement. Care to join us?
