Exploring Kit’s Coty House in Kent: Megalithic Tomb

Nigel Sadler and I are off to explore Kit’s Coty House, one of the seven Medway Megaliths. This ancient burial chamber was built in the early part of the Neolithic period from Sarsen Stones. Originally a long barrow, the earth that covered it has since been ploughed away or eroded and all that is left is the entrance portal.

We park up on Blue Bell Hill on the North Downs and make our way down the North Downs Way to find the first of two monuments we are here to look at.
