Exploring Duncton – The ancient game of Stoolball

I am once again back in Duncton looking at the games played on the village green in times gone by.

Stoolball is a sport that dates back to at least the 15th century, originating in Sussex, southern England. It may be an ancestor of cricket, baseball, and rounders, in fact stoolball is sometimes called “cricket in the air”.

I speak to John Robins about this game and his connection with it. I also speak with Peter Thomas about the village hall and the facilities available in Duncton.
